Meadow Overlook
When these homeowners added a barn with a large space for musical gatherings, they envisioned parties that would flow out into the landscape, with storytelling and informal jam sessions around a firepit, and vistas that would take advantage of the beautiful woods and surrounding meadow. Their prolific vegetable gardens needed retaining and new fencing, and the sloping backyard required retaining walls and steps to make it a more functional gathering space.
Our plan included boulder walls and new fencing around the vegetable garden, rustic fieldstone walls and reclaimed granite steps to break up the slope, and lush, low maintenance plantings to attract birds and pollinators and provide year round color and interest.
